Due to the high and increasing volume of telephone calls we are receiving, we have had to take the decision not to take repeat prescription requests over the telephone from 1st August 2017. After that date we will only accept requests in person at reception, or in writing or online. This decision has not been taken lightly and if this presents you with any significant difficulties, please let us know.
We hope that this will not inconvenience our patients too much, but we have reviewed our call records and are concerned at the number which we cannot deal with. Good patient care is at the heart of what we do, and our administrative systems have to evolve to meet the changing needs of the Practice as a whole.
We do not currently process requests for repeat prescriptions before 10.30am. All staff are aware of this and will politely ask that you phone back if you telephone us before that time. This will continue until 1st August.
The turnaround time for repeat prescription requests is 4 working days, but this is halved to just 2 days for requests made online, so if you are interested in faster prescription requests, the ability to book GP appointments online up to 6 weeks in advance, plus viewing your medical record, please ask reception for details.
