27/9/2021 Covid-19 booster vaccinations and 3rd dose vaccinations

Almondsbury Surgery will be offering COVID-19 booster vaccinations and 3rd dose vaccinations for immunocompromised patients on behalf of Severnvale PCN.  Clinics will commence from Monday 4th October.

Appointments will be offered at Almondsbury Surgery during the week and will be run by appointment only - there is no facility for walk-ins.

All eligible patients will be given the Pfizer vaccine.

Booster vaccinations will be offered no earlier than 6 months from your second dose.

For immunocompromised patients, 3rd doses will be offered from 8 weeks.  If you are eligible for a 3rd dose we will be in touch in due course and are aiming to vaccinate everyone over the next 2-3 months, vaccine delivery permitting.

Please remember this is a booster dose to prolong and strengthen the immunity your previous doses gave you.

We ask that you do not call the surgery and please wait for us to contact you.

It is important to note that we will not be administering the flu vaccination at the same time as the Covid-19 vaccinations.  If you have not already received your flu vaccination, please call the surgery to book an appointment.

Third dose vaccination for severely immunosuppressed aged 12+

The JCVI has advised that people with severely weakened immune systems should have a third COVID-19 vaccine dose.  This is separate to any potential COVID-19 booster vaccination.  There are national recommendations as to who is considered eligible for the third vaccine and General Practices are working with Hospital Specialists locally to identify those who should receive this.  There is no need contact the NHS.  If you or your child is eligible for vaccination, we will contact you.
